The following shampoo for dogs, presented by SASA Cosmetics and Consulting LLC, provides soothing properties thanks to lipids, proteins and carbohydrates in the oat kernel extract. Also, the oat β-glucan is structurally similar to hyaluronic acid, playing a significant role in water retention, conditioning and moisturizing properties.
Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, revered for its antifungal and antibacterial properties, is also key in this formula to provide a healthy coat; to protect the moisture barrier, potentially making it more resistant to bacteria and yeast; and to improve the skin's lipid barrier.
Finally, Anthemis nobilis flower extract, obtained through the plant extraction of Roman chamomile flowers, is a botanical extract rich in flavonoids that possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It also contains phenolic compounds and hydrocinnamic acids (e.g., ferulic, chlorogenic, caffeic and dicaffeoylquinic acids) that can soothe while neutralizing free radicals.
Procedure: In a clean, sanitized beaker, add RO water and start mixing at RT using an overhead mixer. To this, add A ingredients one at a time and stir continuously until complete dissolution. Once dissolved, begin heating to 70-75°C with stirring. In a separate beaker, add B ingredients and start heating to 70-75°C with continuous mixing to avoid burning the mixture. Once both phases are between 70-75°C, transfer B to A with rapid stirring and maintain temperature at 75-80°C for 5 min. Lower mixing speed to medium and start cooling (without using ice packs) to 45°C. At 45°C, add C followed by D with constant stirring. Further cool to 35°C. At 35°C, add E ingredients one at a time and keep stirring until all dissolved. Further cool to 30°C and add F. Keep stirring for 15 min to completely homogenize, at lowest speed mixer. Add G ingredients and continue mixing until temperature has reached 25°C. Check pH and viscosity.
