SEPPIC introduced Sepilife Nude (INCI: Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer (and) C15-19 Alkane (and) Polyglyceryl-6 Laurate (and) Polyglycerin-6), a biodegradable emulsifying polymer.
The multifunctional ingredient provides thickening, stabilizing and texturizing effects to formulations. A variety of applications may utilize Sepilife Nude, including makeup and skin, sun and hair care; additionally, the lightweight polymer can be used in sprayable, fluid or thick formulas.
While formulating, the plant-based polymer can act as the primary emulsifier or thickener, and is compatible with solvents, sun filters and pigments. According to the company, the ingredient is ethylene oxide-free and of natural origin (ISO 16128). It functions in a pH range from 5.5–12, and is approved in China.
“Sepilife Nude has been developed in line with SEPPIC’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy, to innovate sustainability for formulators. It is a new generation multifunctional polymer combining sustainability, performance and skin feel, which is difficult to achieve with the natural gums on the market today,” said Juanshu Shen, product manager, SEPPIC.
